Branded Strategic Hospitality, an investment and advisory firm focused on early- and growth-stage technology in the restaurant and hospitality industries, announced today that two of its portfolio companies have been named to the annual Inc. 5000 list, the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment — its independent small businesses.

TapRm, a new-age beer distribution platform founded in 2017 that currently ships over 200 brands to 32 states, ranked No. 108 on this year’s Inc. 5000 after reporting a three-year growth rate of 3,802%. PourMyBeer, listed as Innovative Tap Solutions on the Inc. 5000, ranked No. 3564. The self-pour technology with over 7,000 taps worldwide experienced 96% growth over three years.

“As restaurant operators for over 25 years, Branded has focused our investment strategy on technology that addresses the industry’s most critical challenges and biggest opportunities and we are thrilled that two of our partner companies have earned the esteemed Inc. 5000 recognition,” said Michael “Schatzy” Schatzberg, co-founder and managing partner of Branded Strategic Hospitality and owner/operator of several New York City restaurants, including Barbounia, 5 Napkin Burger, and Isabelle’s Osteria. “Both TapRm and PourMyBeer have found a niche in their respective spaces and are on a tremendous growth path. We’re proud to be a partner and advisor of such innovators in the restaurant and hospitality industries.”

Branded became investors in and strategic advisors for PourMyBeer in January 2018, seeing an enormous opportunity to fill a gap in the world of automation. The firm added TapRm to its portfolio the following year in June 2019 as the landscape of direct-to-consumer alcohol delivery was beginning to explode.

Not only have the companies on the 2021 Inc. 5000 been very competitive within their markets, but this year’s list also proved especially resilient and flexible given 2020’s unprecedented challenges. Among the 5,000, the average median three-year growth rate soared to 543%, and median revenue reached $11.1 million. Together, those companies added more than 610,000 jobs over the past three years.

Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000. The top 500 companies are featured in the September issue of Inc., which will be available on newsstands on Aug. 20.
